On May 8, 2025, the CUNY community came together at BMCC’s Makerspace to de-stress and make a difference at the Edit Loud! Edit Proud! — Queering Wikipedia event! Students, staff, and faculty gathered to celebrate queer identity, build community, and contribute to the world’s largest open knowledge platform. In partnership with CUNY’s Wikimedian-in-Resident Richard Knipel, attendees engaged in hands-on editing sessions, adding and improving content related to LGBT+ people and issues across Wikipedia.
