Registration is now open! On March 28, 2026, CUNY’s City Tech in Downtown Brooklyn will partner with Wikimedia NYC to host Wikipedia’s 25th anniversary party (and celebrate the volunteer community of editors that has helped to make it the ninth most-visited site in the world)!

Please feel free to share with your students, colleagues, and professional networks. Whether new to the movement or a longtime contributor, all are welcome to join the CUNY Newmark Wikimedian-in-Residence to commemorate 25 years of free knowledge.

The event will feature a full day of activities, from 11 am – 5 pm, for all wiki-skill levels, including:

– Keynote speeches

– Lightning talks

– Panels & presentations on internet culture

– Beginner-level training for new Wikipedia editors!

– Interactive edit-a-thons and skills-building workshops

– Creative and cultural activities celebrating global stories and local histories

– Lots of food, cake & community-building with Wikimedians and partners in New York City!
